The Department for Education has shared its to help early years providers prepare to reopen to more children from 1 June onwards.

The guidance explains how to prepare to reopen on 1 June, although settings are not required to follow it.

The guide says: "Settings may use their professional judgement and choose to follow alternative approaches depending on their individual circumstances, but at all times will need to take account of relevant public health guidance to maximimse safety for those in the environment."

Early years providers are being asked to reopen to all children on 1 June 2020, provided that the government's "five key tests" are met first.

鈥淕oing forward, the sector will need the continued support of government to ensure that we are able to continue delivering quality care and education while adhering to the latest guidelines and changing evidence bases, and so the government will need to take a much more proactive approach to providing clear, timely guidance to early years providers than it has to date.
